The Standard FC Jersey draws from the legacy of a campus known as the “Home by the Sea.” A rich blue base, layered with tonal illustrations, crossed sabers across the chest nod to the fighting spirit of pirates, & number 68 on the back honors a founding year that marked the start of something dignified and enduring.
With its historic campus perched by the water in Virginia, Hampton blends tradition and innovation seamlessly.
Legacy & Highlights: Established in 1868, Hampton has been integral in Black higher education and cultural preservation.
Founded in 1868 on the banks of Virginia’s coast, Hampton University—known as the "Home by the Sea"—has long stood as a beacon of academic excellence, cultural leadership, and historic preservation. Its alumni include legends like Booker T. Washington, comedian Wanda Sykes, and Olympic hurdler Kellie Wells-Brinkley. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. William R. Harvey, Hampton grew into one of the nation's most respected HBCUs, blending tradition with innovation across generations. Hampton’s women’s soccer team recently played its first home game of the season—an event filled with fan energy at the Powhatan Field. They also faced Howard University in the landmark HBCU Women’s Soccer Invitational, tying 0–0 in a memorable match.
